The project

In order to revive the Po Delta Cinema Documentation Centre and revitalize it beyond its traditional documentary and archival function, the Park Authority decided to enhance its relation with the surrounding area and therefore launched some special tourist cinema trails, allowing visitors to directly experience what they read and learnt in the different rooms of the Centre and namely to visit the locations used to shoot several films and documentaries inside the Park.

Currently there are three thematic trails: the first one is strictly related to the cinema of Pupi Avati; the second one focuses on the locations chosen by Mario Soldati in1954 to shoot La donna del fiume, the film starring Sophia Loren that made her an international star; the third one explores natural and man-made landscapes characterizing the Po Delta and which have been inspiring several authors and directors since the forties until today.
